Barbara Greindl was born into an artistic family. She trained at the art academy in Liège, where she specialized in the restoration of older artworks, such as those by Rubens and Rembrandt.
At the same time, her desire to create and bring something of her own into existence grew. She now creates beautiful, colorful sculptures, each with an artistic wink to humanity and society. Barbara’s body of work is recognizable in form and color, and it is full of symbolism. Her cheerful-looking works are a light-hearted satire on the food industry. The animals she uses in her pieces tell us, one by one, how little we know about the origins and production of our food. In her works, she integrates real eggs, mussels, and beetle shells.
