This artwork illustrates the overmedication of the elderly in retirement homes. They are given a lot of medication so that they do not move too much, are ‘cheered up’ and do not ‘bother’ anyone too much… In this case, it is not at all about LIFE, dynamism and enthusiasm, which should be at the center of the institution, but rather about vital deterioration, restless composure and obstruction to move and ultimately live a good life…. Here you see one of those “elderly” full of wisdom, life experience and history who should be better cared for and whose life advice would be better heard than suggesting he should go to bed….
